7/10 Spicy Ramen I got medium spice level and that was just right for me. It left a good burning feeling in my mouth while I ate. The broth was very good overall. The noodles were varying in thickness and chewy just how I like them. The meat was really good. It was super fatty and broke apart deliciously in my mouth. It was marinated so well. The other toppings were good such as bean sprouts and mini corn. Overall a good spicy ramen that I would like to eat again. 6/10 The Original Kushiro Ramen This is a very light, almost plain soup. The only real taste is a light soy sauce flavour. The noodles are thin, but not as firm as I like them, and bland. The meat was not good, very tough like when my mum overcooks the Sunday roast. The menma were good and spring onions fine. I think this shop survives on its reputation as an old ramen shop serving the original Kushiro ramen but I won't be in a hurry to return. 7/10 Teshikaga Ramen A nice fishy bowl of ramen. The highlight for me was the noodles. They were such a deep colour and had great flavour and chewiness. The meat was barbecued pork and tasted good. The menma and spring onions were also good. Like I said, it was a fishy soup which isn't my favourite but the flavour was light and it made for a great bowl of ramen. I'd definitely eat again at one of their many stores. 8/10 The Original Sapporo Miso Ramen The best ramen I've had in Hokkaido. The broth is the lightest I've ever had for miso ramen and it's full of delicate flavours. You can add the spicy miso paste to your taste for extra kick. The meat is really interesting because it's minced pork. It tastes so good and goes really well with the ramen. The vegetables are really good; the menma tastes great, there's loads of bean sprouts and onions which are delicious. A fantastic bowl and it's clear they've been perfecting it for a long time! 7/10 Sapporo Ramen Alley This was a solid bowl of miso ramen. The broth is really tasty but not too overwhelming like some miso ramen can be. The noodles were a nice thickness and as firm as I like, really delicious. The meat tasted really meaty and good. There were loads of really good spring onions too. 7/10 Asahikawa Local Ramen I really don't know what to think about this. The broth is fatty and tastes good but doesn't have much flavour. The noodles are average and the meat is just good. The menma is really big and chunky which is nice. Regardless of how average this has been I could see myself coming regularly. 7/10 Furano Cheese Ramen First of all I just want to say that daft punk ate here. This is an interesting combination. The cheese is really good quality from the local area and goes really well with the noodles. The soup has a slightly fishy taste and I regret not getting the spicy ramen wish would compliment the fish flavour. There's loads of local toppings too like corn and carrots. 6/10 Trucker Ramen This was a very big bowl of ramen with a lot of noodles. The noodles were really good: thick, wavy and chewy. There was bean sprouts, menma, spring onions and even regular onions. And really liked the onion. The soup on the other hand was underwhelming. I ordered miso ramen and it tasted a bit plain. The meat was tasty but a bit tough. 3/10 Haneda Airport Ramen This is bad ramen exploiting the lack of competition past security at Haneda airport. The soup is flavourless and the noodles too. The meat was the best bit and the only part I'd choose to eat again. Another small positive to salvage this disaster is that it still left me with the usual satisfied, after ramen feeling.

7/10 My First Ramen I returned to the place where I first tried ramen in Japan 4 years ago. I got the soy ramen which had a super fatty and very delicious soup. There were two pieces of pork and chicken, which were all lovely. The egg was marinated nicely and the yolk was soft. The noodles were the weakest part and were only so-so. The menma and spring onions were fine.
